“Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:12
Haley and Chance share a common bond. That common bond is their love for Christ. During the wedding ceremony, which took place in the big rustic barn at Hollow Hill, the bride and groom chose to tie a cord of three strands together into one, a symbol of the strength that exists when their love is interwoven with God’s love. While the tying of the three strands, Sam Deford, Haley’s cousin, sang “The Wedding Song” by Matthew Mole. It was truly a beautiful moment that will never be forgotten.
The officiant, Pastor Jim Watson, even gave a short but tear-jerking word of encouragement right after he and his wife won the couples’ dance during the reception: “We’ve been married for 57 years, I wish we could do it all again. And I hope when you’ve been married 57 years you’d like to do it all again too.”
